About This Place

Nestled in the heart of downtown Manhattan, O'Hara's Restaurant and Pub is a vibrant American eatery and bar that perfectly marries classic pub charm with an inviting neighborhood vibe. Known for its warm, family-like atmosphere, this spot offers a comforting retreat from the bustling city streets, making it a favorite for locals and visitors alike, especially those exploring the nearby World Trade Center area.

The menu is a celebration of hearty American and Irish-inspired dishes that satisfy a range of cravings. From the moment you sink your teeth into one of their specialty burgers—like the Ten House with crispy bacon and melted jack cheese, the tangy Manhattan crowned with bleu cheese, or the earthy Bronx featuring mushrooms, sautéed onions, and American cheese—you know you're in for a deliciously crafted meal. Each burger is perfectly paired with crispy, golden fries, delivering that classic pub indulgence.

O’Hara’s doesn’t stop at burgers; the menu also boasts beloved staples such as the rich and savory Shepherd’s Pie, the indulgent French Onion Soup with its golden, bubbling cheese crust, and the traditional Irish Stew made with tender beef that melts in your mouth. For seafood lovers, the Fish and Chips offer flaky, battered fish alongside perfectly seasoned fries—a true comfort dish. The Guilled Chicken over fresh spinach salad adds a lighter, yet flavorful option, while the Wings come with tempting variations like Teriyaki, Buffalo, or BBQ, coating each bite in tasty heat.

Beyond the food, the drink selection is a standout element of O’Hara’s experience. Beer enthusiasts will appreciate the carefully curated draft list featuring iconic names like Guinness Stout poured with expert precision, Samuel Adams Boston Lager, and Smithwick's Irish Ale, alongside a rich selection of local craft beers including Victory Golden Monkey and Brooklyn’s own War Flag Stout. This dedication to quality pours means every sip, whether on a familiar Belgian-style Stella Artois or the robust Founder's Porter, complements the robust flavors on your plate. Don’t miss the Irish Coffee, a perfect warming finish after a hearty meal.

Guests consistently praise O’Hara’s for its inviting atmosphere and attentive staff. Reviewer Petar Mandac highlighted the perfectly poured Guinness and friendly, efficient service alongside an “awesome” burger experience, while Jennifer Kopp fondly described the pub as a “time capsule” brimming with personality and charm. The venue holds a unique place of reverence too, as noted by a visitor who appreciated the memorial elements dedicated to first responders, making the visit both comforting and meaningful.

In every respect, O’Hara’s Restaurant and Pub offers more than just a meal—it delivers an authentic, comforting escape where delicious flavors and heartfelt hospitality come together. Whether you're winding down after exploring downtown Manhattan’s historic sights or looking to gather with friends over great food and drinks, O’Hara's promises a memorable, feel-good experience that invites you to return time and again.

Had a great time at O’Hara’s Pub! The Guinness was perfectly poured, the staff were quick and friendly, and the burger was awesome. Highly recommend for anyone visiting downtown Manhattan.

Stopped here arfer visiting ground zero. We didn't realise this was a memorial to all the first responders of 9/11. What an incredible place. First responders badges from all around the world are stuck on ever wall and ceiling. Great pint of Guinness as well

No better place to go immediately after visiting the WTC area and Museum than O'Hara's! It was a rumor, I believed it, tested it and it was, in fact, true! You feel like you are almost walking into a time capsule the moment you see the door and I won't spoil the surprise by telling you what happens AFTER you open the door. It is a beautiful spot with so much personality, friendly service and the biggest burger I have ever seen. I couldn't even finish HALF. I think there was an entire pack of pack on it. ;) It was SO good. Not to mention, really reasonably priced, especially considering it would have fed me three times. I was able to swap out reg fries for sweet potato fries (always a win). The photos of the HAND-WRITTEN menu will tell you everything about the vibe of this unique place..... And the prices are on them. Those portions are HUGE, people! Enjoy! Will definitely be back!

We had such a wonderful time at O'Hara's Restaurant and Pub! Everyone was incredibly kind, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The atmosphere is warm and family-like — we truly enjoyed every moment. We’ll definitely be back in December, this time with a badge in our bag!

We ate here a few days ago and enjoyed everything about it. The service was great, the food( I had the grilled chicken sandwich) was superb. It has a fun atmosphere. We'll definitely eat here again when we visit NY again.

My husband and I were just leaving the observatory and found this pub on the map and decided to give it a try. We definitely came across a gem. We find out this pub is a memorabilia for first responders. The history of this pub during 9/11 is just wow. The staff is so friendly, sharing stories with us and even letting us see their scrapbook of 9/11. The atmosphere was just the perfect vibe we were looking for. When we come back to NY, we are definitely stopping at O'Hara's.

This was the best bar experience of our entire trip. The bartenders here make you feel welcomed and they know so much about the area and the people.
